Vinay Express News, Jaisalmer. The 50th anniversary year of India’s glorious victory in the 1971 war is being celebrated as ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ by the Indian Armed Forces. The glorious victory in the 1971 war is not only a matter of pride for all Indians but more so for the Desert formations where the famous battle of Laungewala was won by own forces.
The Victory Flame along with the representative teams of Konark Corps, Southern Command has arrived at Jaisalmer Military Station. The flame symbolises decisive victory, guts and glory displayed by the immortals that made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland in the finest tradition of the Indian Army.
Major General Ajeet Singh Gahlot, Sena Medal, General Officer Commanding, Battle Axe Division received the Victory Flame at the Jaisalmer War Museum. All serving personnel and Veterans of Jaisalmer Military Station were present for the event. The war heroes and veterans were felicitated during the event.
During the stay of victory flame at Jaisalmer, various ceremonies will be conducted at Jaisalmer Military Station as well as Border Areas. The Ceremonies include wreath laying, felicitations of Veterans and Veer Naris, Online Painting and Quiz Competition, Tree Plantation drive and Victory March to all units stationed at Jaisalmer Military Station.
The victory flame will now move to Laungewala and other border areas
